Meet Katja

Founder of Accretios & B2B Marketing & Communication Director

For more than 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of B2B marketing, communication and leadership.

My career took me from hands-on execution to senior international Marketing & Communication Director roles, leading teams, advising executives and helping complex organisations turn business priorities into clear marketing and communication direction.

Today, I help complex B2B, industrial and Energy Transition companies bring more clarity, structure and direction to their marketing and communication.

from hands-on execution to senior international Marketing & Communication Director roles
  • The positioning may no longer reflect the company.

  • Marketing, sales and communication may have become disconnected.

  • The expertise may be strong, but difficult for the market to recognise.

  • Or the team may simply need more senior direction.

That is where I come in.

My strength is seeing the bigger picture, identifying what has become unclear or fragmented and turning that into better decisions, clearer priorities and practical action.

I have always enjoyed making business value clearer

What motivates me most is understanding what makes a business valuable and helping that value come through more clearly.

  1. Sometimes that means sharpening the positioning.

  2. Sometimes bringing structure to marketing and communication.

  3. Sometimes helping a leadership team make clearer choices.

  4. And sometimes turning the direction into something tangible that people can actually use.

For me, good marketing is not about doing more.

It is about knowing what matters and making sure the right things move forward.

From execution to leadership

More than 20 years of understanding both strategy and execution

I worked my way through corporate marketing and communication from hands-on roles to senior international leadership.

That journey still shapes how I work today.

Because I have done the work myself, I understand what it takes to turn a strategic idea into something a team can actually execute.

I understand execution because I started there.

And because I have spent more than 15 years in senior leadership roles, I also understand the complexity behind business decisions, competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.

I understand the boardroom because I have been there.

That combination helps me connect strategy with what needs to happen next.

I don't believe in handing people a strategy and simply expecting them to make it happen.

Good execution requires clarity, context and ownership.

Having worked both hands-on and in leadership, I understand what teams need to translate direction into action.

But I also understand what different stakeholders need from leadership and communication.

Employees

Employees want to understand where the organisation is going, why decisions are being made and what those decisions mean for their work.

Customers

Customers want clarity about the value, direction and reliability of the company they choose to work with.

Partners

Partners want confidence in the relationship and the ambitions behind it.

The wider market

The wider market wants a clear point of view and credible leadership it can recognise and trust.

My strength is seeing all those different perspectives and connecting them.

I help leaders translate strategy, decisions and ambition into communication that works at executive level and resonates with the people who need to understand, support or act on it.

Good marketing and communication are not only about how a business is perceived.

They help create understanding, trust and alignment between leadership, the organisation and the people around it.

Marketing and communication are business disciplines

Marketing does not operate in isolation.

Positioning affects sales.

Internal clarity affects external credibility.

Communication influences trust.

And a strong strategy only works when people understand the priorities and know what they own.

That is why my work can span marketing strategy, positioning, go-to-market, internal and external communication, stakeholder communication, content, visibility and team leadership.

Not as separate activities.

But as connected parts of the same business challenge.

My background includes:

  • Marketing strategy and positioning
  • Internal and external communication
  • Executive communication
  • Content and thought leadership
  • Stakeholder events
  • PR, reputation and stakeholder engagement
  • International and cross-functional leadership

The goal is not more marketing.

It is clearer decisions, stronger alignment and better execution.

Good communication works inside and outside the organisation.

Internally, people need clarity around direction, decisions and priorities.

Externally, customers, partners and stakeholders need to understand your expertise, value and point of view.

Different audiences may need different messages, but the overall direction should remain consistent.

That is why I connect internal communication, external communication, positioning and visibility rather than treating them as separate worlds.

Internal visibility

Helping employees understand your direction, decisions and priorities.

Clear leadership communication strengthens trust, involvement and alignment inside the organisation.

External visibility

Helping customers, partners and the wider market understand your expertise, vision and point of view.

This can include thought leadership, LinkedIn, media positioning, presentations and other relevant communication channels.

One consistent voice

Internal and external communication should reinforce each other.

Employees, customers and market stakeholders may need different messages and levels of detail.

But they should recognise the same leader.

The same direction.

And the same values.

The goal is not attention for its own sake.

The goal is trust, influence and stronger relationships with the people who matter to your organisation.

Why I started Accretios

Katja De Witte seated at a table with a laptop and a cup of coffee, in front of blurred copper vats

The name Accretios comes from the Latin word accretio, meaning gradual growth.

That idea has always resonated with me.

After more than 20 years in B2B marketing and communication, I've learned that sustainable growth rarely comes from one big campaign or one brilliant idea.

It is built gradually.

Through clear choices. Strong communication. Good systems. Aligned people. And consistent execution.

But I've also seen how easily companies lose direction as they grow. More activities, more stakeholders and more complexity don't necessarily lead to better results.

That's why I created Accretios.

To bring clarity, structure and senior-level expertise to complex B2B marketing and communication. To help businesses focus on what matters, connect the right people and priorities, and turn strategic direction into meaningful action.

The meaning behind our identity

Accretios logo — Strategic B2B Marketing & Communication

Our logo reflects that same philosophy.

The distinctive, open a represents how different elements come together to create something stronger, while leaving room for new perspectives and growth.

Deep navy represents experience, trust and strategic clarity. Teal brings energy, fresh thinking and progress.

The specially designed t adds a subtle element of connection, reflecting the importance of alignment between strategy and execution, leadership and teams.

Together, they express what Accretios stands for:

Clarity. Connection. Progress.

Bringing that philosophy to life

Today, I work with clients through focused Diagnostics, Intensives and, for a limited number of organisations, Fractional or Interim Marketing & Communication Leadership.

Alongside that, I'm building practical tools and resources to make strategic marketing thinking more accessible to businesses and marketers.

Because sustainable growth isn't about doing more marketing.

It's about making better choices and making the right things happen.

Streamlined Marketing. Sustainable Growth.

The Accretios STREAM™ Framework

Strong marketing and communication should not depend on random activity or last-minute requests.

It needs a system.

STREAM™ connects:

  1. SStrategy
  2. TTargeting
  3. RReliable Systems
  4. EExecution
  5. AAlignment
  6. MMomentum

It helps bring structure to complex marketing and communication challenges and turn direction into action.

Strategy without execution creates documents.

Execution without strategy creates noise.

What you can expect from me

Strategic depth

I look beyond the immediate marketing or communication request and connect it to your positioning, stakeholders and business priorities.

Practical guidance

Strategy only creates value when it can be used.

I translate direction into clear choices, messages and manageable actions.

Clear decision making

I help separate what matters from what can wait, so you can focus resources, reduce noise and make better marketing and communication decisions.

Honest human sparring

I ask questions, challenge assumptions and help you find an approach that feels credible and sustainable.

Team leadership

I enjoy bringing people together around clear priorities, creating context and helping internal and external teams move the work forward.

Creative translation

I enjoy making strategy tangible through messaging, presentations, websites, content concepts and selected practical assets.

You are not hiring someone to simply add more marketing activity.

You are working with an experienced strategic partner who helps you create more clarity, make better choices and move the right things forward.

A bit more about me

Katja De Witte sitting outdoors with a white mug, sea and palm trees behind her

I am naturally curious and at my best when strategy, creativity and people come together.

I am based in Belgium and work remotely with organisations across Europe and beyond.

Outside work, I love travelling, discovering different cultures and spending time near the sea.

Spain has become a second home for my husband and me, and few things help me think more clearly than warm weather, an open horizon and a beautiful sunset.

Across all the roles, industries and countries I have worked in, one thing has remained remarkably consistent:

I enjoy bringing clarity to complexity and helping good businesses become easier to understand, trust and choose.

Less marketing. More clarity.

If your business has evolved faster than your marketing and communication, I can help you step back, bring clarity to the bigger picture and decide what needs to happen next.
